About Joe Nishanth — AI Agents Developer, Chennai

I am an AI Agents Developer based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, with more than eleven years in software. My work now centres on one idea, which is also the line in my profile: build AI that drafts, and humans approve.

That sentence is a design constraint rather than a slogan. In the domains I work in — healthcare above all — the interesting question is not how much a model can generate, but which decisions stay with an accountable person and how the system proves they did.

What I work on

Agentic AI — agents with defined purposes, tools, permissions and approval boundaries, rather than open-ended assistants.
RAG — grounding answers in an organisation’s own policies and documents, with access control and source attribution intact.
Workflow automation — the operational plumbing that connects departments, where most enterprise defects actually live.
Healthcare systems — hospital workflows end to end: registration, clinical documentation, diagnostics, pharmacy, billing and insurance.
Spec-driven development — treating the specification as a versioned engineering artifact so AI-assisted work stays traceable to intent.

How I approach AI in regulated domains

Clinical and financial workflows do not tolerate silent inference. The practices I keep returning to are the unglamorous ones:

Write the requirement down, version it, and have a domain expert approve it before implementation begins.
Give an agent tools, not database access, and put a policy gateway between the two.
Make every accepted and rejected action auditable, because the rejected ones are what an investigation asks about.
Keep diagnosis, prescribing, triage acuity and final interpretation with qualified clinicians, regardless of how capable the model becomes.

I write about the engineering discipline around AI systems rather than about model capability.
